TJ townhouses

DUAL OCCUPANCY

Working with a limited area, our priority was to design these two bedroom townhouses in a way which opened the space, making them feel both welcoming and functional. 

​Internally, we made sure that unused areas are minimised. The living areas were virtually extended through the placement of large windows allowing natural light to flood the space, while making sure the flexibility in furnishing is maintained. 

As the traditional pitched roof was an imposed condition of our brief, we decided to introduce a few subtle modern elements to enhance the appeal of the facade, such as the open pergola structure that helps enhance the feeling of protected exposure to nature.

 

​To further reinforce the juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements, we adopted a simple and timeless brick-paint-metal composition.

​It is a balanced, yet reserved response to a very diverse neighbourhood streetscape, with focus placed on the comfort of the future inhabitants.
